Competencies are a cornerstone of any Central Service training system. They outline quality requirements and serve as documentation of successful training and education. This program examines the purpose and development of useful competency measurements from basic competencies to advanced skill measurements. Major topics include: identifying competency needs, interfacing competencies with job descriptions, policies, procedures and other departmental documentation, determining competency content, selecting methods to measure competencies and education for competency evaluators and staff.
